The Battle to end all Battles!

Coldwell Banker Bain offers an extensive course catalog for broker education, and without a doubt our brokers favorite class is the “Battle of the Brokers”. We offer this course as either a 4-hour or a 7-hour continuing education course and it is always informative, entertaining and educational. During this course, our panel of experts discuss and debate the purchase and sale agreement, addenda and supporting documents required for real estate transactions. Our panelist will often play devil’s advocate which makes for a very lively discussion but in the end, our moderator brings the discussion back around to best practices to ensure that our brokers are well informed when representing clients.

Our past course was expertly hosted by our panel moderator, Bob Call. Our panelist included Principal Managing Brokers, Barbara Hindle, Capitol Hill, Michelle Van Tassell, Edmonds, Richard Fulton, Kirkland, Michael Winkler, Issaquah and our attorney, Mark D. Schedler, of Williams Kastner.  And the panelists change, rotating Managing Brokers by region.

If you have not attended this course yet, we highly recommend you do. Check our event calendar for 2018 and get registered.

Here is what our broker Steve Burman had to say about this class.

Just a quick note to say what an excellent session you facilitated today. You and the panel did a great job. These are one of the best things we do as a company in my opinion. This one was particularly good. I’ve been with Bain for 18 years, and I always learn plenty at these events. They should be mandatory for ALL of our Brokers.

Coldwell Banker Bain: Community Connections

We would like to recognize the generosity of our brokers and their dedication to enriching their communities. Coldwell Banker Bain firmly believes that we are the best because of the quality of our brokers.

Coldwell Banker Bain | Vancouver East & West

In September our 2 Vancouver offices joined up with Habitat for Humanity for 2 separate events. On September 19th we were a corporate sponsor for the annual “raise the roof” breakfast at the Vancouver Hilton. This event is the largest annual fundraiser which brought in over 600 people in attendance and raised over $136,000. On September 29th, 15 brokers from our two offices joined up with other volunteers at the McKibbon Commons development, a 10 lot community in SE Vancouver. The day involved framing walls and interior drywall work. Even through the rain, the group had a successful day and enjoyed the fellowship of other volunteers and the owners of one of the future homes. Each homeowner has to put in hundreds of “sweat equity” hours toward their own home and it was a joy to see the look on their faces as each wall was going up on their new home.

Coldwell Banker BAIN offices in Vancouver have been volunteering multiple time each year with different build days and clean up days known as “Brush with Kindness”. This is a great way for our brokers to give back to the community in which we live and work in each day

Coldwell Banker Bain | Puyallup

With our day to day busy lives, we sometimes put certain things on the back burner.  Between family and work, life can be hectic and community service sometimes get forgotten about.  Here at the Puyallup office, we decided not only to help our community but the environment too.  We have adopted 3 1-mile stretched of unincorporated Pierce county roads.  Our first road clean up took place September 20th and there were four volunteers from the Puyallup office to help with the launch of our Adopt-A-Road program: Elizabeth Abbgy, Betty Codute, Amanda Woods, and Jennifer Anderson. Passerby's would honk and give us the thumb's up. We collected 7 bags of trash and with those 7 bags an hour and a half commitment we made an impact on our community and our environment. We are doing the road cleanups on a monthly basis and looking for people to help.  We have it scheduled out through December and you don't have to commit to every month.  If you don't want to help with ours you should consider finding a stretch of road to maintain in your area.  For more information on our Adopt A Road program please contact Elizabeth Abbgy or the Puyallup office.

Coldwell Banker Bain | Everett

And the 2017 Monte Cristo Award winners are…
The City of Everett’s Monte Cristo Awards ceremony was held on the evening of October 12th.  For the second year, Coldwell Banker Bain Everett office was the primary sponsor for this popular annual event.  Created in 1994 by a committee of residents working with the City of Everett’s Office of Neighborhoods, the Monte Cristo Awards program recognizes residents who enhance the attractiveness of their homes and landscapes, and to business owners for the visual appeal of their business locations.

This year the city received 149 unique nominations from members of the community.  Jaimee Hudson, Community Engagement Specialist for the City of Everett said, “This was definitely thanks to the help of everyone at your (CB Bain) office for spreading the word and being wonderful community partners.”  Awards were selected from various neighborhoods throughout the city for four categories: Green Gardening, Neighborhood Friendly Business, Pride of the Neighborhood, Rejuvenation and Transformation and a separate Marian Krell Director’s Award.  Winners received an exterior plaque from Mayor Ray Stephanson for them to proudly attach near their front doors.

Sponsorship of this important program is just one of several community outreach projects that our wonderful real estate brokers at CB Bain in Everett support throughout the year.  We are very happy to have our affiliate partners at Rainier Title join us this year to support this program that recognizes residents and business owners who take positive steps to aesthetically improve this great city!
