We would like to recognize the generosity of our brokers and their dedication to enriching their communities. Coldwell Banker Bain firmly believes that we are the best because of the quality of our brokers.
Tacoma Main | Coats and Toys Donation
This Holiday Season has been busy for the Tacoma branch when it comes to giving back to the community. They hosted their annual Coat Drive in partnership with the Rescue Mission. With all our agents participating and sending word out to their friends and families, we collected an astounding number of coats/jackets to keep those in need warm this winter. Desniege Robison of the Rescue Mission wrote this nice note to the Tacoma staff: “Thank you for holding a drive for the Rescue Mission this holiday season. Your donation of 276 warm clothing items help care for our hurting neighbors, offering Help, Hope & Healing to those in need.” Right after the Coat Drive ended, their annual Toys for Tots event started. And just in 3 days, the Tacoma Main office received enough items to overflow the donation box. With all three Tacoma offices and the Puyallup office participating in this year’s Toys for Tots event, we have high hopes that we can collect enough toys to make every needy child smile this Christmas.
Redmond | Toys For Tots
Coldwell Banker Bain-Redmond sponsored their 17th annual Toys for Tots donation event on Saturday, December 9th, at the Bella Bottega Shopping Center where their office is located. They partnered with the U.S. Marines and their community to collect as many toys as they could for children in need this holiday season. This year they raised over 700 toys for the children in their community. The U.S. Marines, the Corvette Club, as well as 100.7 The Wolf radio station, and even Santa himself came and shared their support. The event was a great success thanks to everyone who came to this community event and helped to bring out the holiday cheer!
Redmond | YWCA Donations
For over 15 years Coldwell Banker Bain-Redmond has been partnering with the Young Women’s Christian Association. This year they had the privilege of sponsoring a single mother with two young twin daughters. All of their brokers contributed generously and supplied the family with lots of clothes, toys, and other needed items. This event has become a staple in the Redmond office and is looked forward to every year.
Lake Oswego | Food Drive
Coldwell Banker Bain-Lake Oswego enjoyed opening their hearts to those in need this holiday season. Their whole branch participated in a local food drive sponsored by the Oregon Food Bank. On December 5th the Oregon Food Banker Picked up 1 and a half barrels of food donations along with money raised for the event. All foods and funds are distributed around the local food banks in Lake Oswego. Hello everyone,
" Thank you all so much for contributing to the food drive we held here at the Coldwell Banker Bain Lake Oswego Office. I received a letter from Kyle Hummel, Corporate Community Relations Coordinator of the Oregon Food Bank letting us know that our contribution of 163 pounds of food (equaling 136 meals) helped provide many local families with food this Holiday Season. Thank you to everyone who could participate! You help make a difference in our community!!!! "
Kirkland | Toys For Tots
Coldwell Banker Bain -Kirkland Participated in a Toys For Tots toy drive. The event got the ball rolling by waving at the Costco traffic and collecting toys and cash in the sunshine. The event had 2 firehouses join and they competed with each other to bring in the donations by Costco. Firehouse 22 brought in $1100 and the Firehouse 26 brought in $1124. 6 Firefighters and 2 trucks that day! By the end of the day Saturday this year, The event had already raised over $2700 and partially filled the conference room with toys. Last year this event raised $3100 and a room full of toys for the WHOLE WEEKEND…and that broke the previous year’s record.
Everyone was back at it on Sunday morning and even the Seahawks game couldn’t stop our donations! At the event we had our Marine Brian Seay join and he was not shy in greeting the crowd! Firehouse 22 came back to join once again, bringing 4 Firefighters and 2 trucks this time! And at the end of the weekend, the event had once again…smashed the previous records! As of today, we had a conference room full of toys and over $5300!!! Coldwell Banker Bain Kirkland would like to thank everyone for their time and dedication to this wonderful cause…YOU made a child believe in the magic of Christmas and helped the parents provide that magic.
Bainbridge Island | Giving Wreaths, Stockings and Toys
Coldwell Banker Bain on Bainbridge Island and its agents have participated in several charity events over the Holiday Season. Giving back is very important to all of us! Our Broker Bill Barrow and fellow Kiwanis member Norm Barquist participated in one of Bainbridge Island Kiwanis Club’s wreath sales. It started just before Thanksgiving and just ended on December 14th. The goal of the sale is to support Bainbridge youths by providing scholarships for many activities and events like the all-comers track meet in the summer, the 3rd Grade library program as well as several other youth programs. They sold 172 wreaths and raised almost $3,500 for The Kiwanis Club. Most wreaths were sold to Coldwell Banker Bain Bainbridge Island agents who in turn gave many of them to their clients. The Kiwanis club found the agents’ support heartwarming and bringing the wreaths to past and present clients is beneficial for everyone involved and a great way to stay in touch.
Broker Barb McKenzie had the pleasure of joining fellow Broker Lisa Paxson at the Seattle Coast Guard Base to fill Christmas Stockings for homeless children in shelters in our areas around Kitsap County. On Saturday, December 9th they participated in making stockings for the greater Seattle area. This was made possible by the generous donations of the agents and community. It was an emotional day and very rewarding! If you are interested in contributing, the Coast Guard accepts cash donations as well to purchase bulk quantities of items for different age groups.
Our office has collected Toys for Tots for over 15 years and find great joy in collecting and buying the new toys.
The great event this year was shopping at the Children Orthopedic thrift store on Bainbridge Island. We got quite lucky that day as they had just received a large delivery from a toy store donating toys. Children’s were having their HALF Price Sale that day so we were able to load up for Toys for Tots and support the Children Orthopedic Hospital at the same time which was perfect!
