Eric Gouge : Managing Broker

Eric Gouge

Managing Broker

As a real estate broker with Coldwell Banker Bain, I enjoy working closely with people to realize their dreams of home-ownership. Consulting with buyers and sellers and guiding them through the transaction is very rewarding.  I have been a licensed broker for the past five years, and I am pleased to be increasing my knowledge by participating in the Management Development Program.

I am a native Washingtonian and have lived in Edmonds most of my life. Prior to becoming a real estate broker, I was in the United States Marine Corps infantry division. I spent four years on active duty and an additional four years in the reserves.

The beautiful Pacific Northwest offers many opportunities for some of my favorite activities.  When I am not working I enjoy fishing on Puget Sound, skiing at Stevens Pass with my father, hiking around the northwest and relaxing at the beach.  My favorite pastime is going hunting with my chocolate lab Gunner. This past summer I was married to my wonderful wife Jaimie.

I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and moved with my family every few years as a child all around Washington and Oregon.  I eventually landed in the Seattle area about twenty six years ago right out of college and have lived here off and on ever since.  I graduated with a degree in business management/finance and immediately began working for Nordstrom Corporate and then Dain Bosworth in their research department.  A few years of intense and reclusive desk work led me out of the corporate world and into residential real estate where I’ve been ever since.

I began my real estate career about twenty five years ago in residential sales, but it soon morphed into new home construction and then as a lender at WAMU.  I also worked for several years in commercial leasing, sales and project management before re-entering residential sales at Coldwell Banker Bain about nine years ago and eventually becoming a managing broker.

I have two grown children, both in college at Washington State University.  My oldest daughter will be graduating with dual degrees in May, 2014 and is already employed at a marketing company in Redmond where she does B2B and social media marketing.  My youngest daughter is a freshman and is studying linguistics.  She’s already fluent in three languages and wants to learn at least two more.   I’m a proud mama!

For  fun, I like to do anything fitness related – running, hiking, cycling, weights and pretty much anything outdoors.  I’m somewhat of a health nut and have always loved animals.  I also enjoy reading, baking, socializing with friends and most all travel.  Having lived abroad for a few years, it’s fun for me to visit new places and immerse myself into the local culture and customs.  I lived in France about 20 years ago and loved every minute of it.  It was challenging at times but so worth it.  I highly recommend it!

I truly appreciate everything I’ve learned so far in the Management Development Program and all the wonderful and talented people that work for the company.  I’m looking forward to continued career growth and helping bring Coldwell Banker Bain even more success!

I am delighted to be part of the Management Development Program for Coldwell Banker Bain.  The support and mentoring I've received has been comprehensive and steeped in a commitment to excellence and best practices.  I began my career life first with a small start-up trading company, which led to a position in international marketing at Microsoft Corporation.  These experiences fed my entrepreneurial drive and desire to work in a collaborative, diverse setting.  For a brief period of discernment, I considered midwifery as a career, and had the honor of attending 50 births as a doula.  It was exhausting, rewarding, amazing...the best "job" ever. It taught me that we remember how we were treated and how we felt during critical times in our lives, even if we don't remember the details. This lesson has carried through to my work in real estate as well. After nine years with CB Bain, I look forward to the opportunity to help foster personal growth and success in other brokers.

Edmonds has been home to my husband, three daughters, and me since 1998, and this small community with big ideas "Town on the Sound" is perfect for us.  I enjoy spending un-structured time with my family, walking our dog, yoga, and front porch gatherings with friends.
