Emma email marketing launches to CB Bain Seal brokers

My Emma email marketing platformColdwell Banker Bain | Seal provides you, our brokers, with the best and most comprehensive set of tools to assist in building, growing and maintaining your real estate business.  We know how important email marketing is and we wanted to provide a robust platform so that you can create, send, and track the results.  To that end, the Emma platform is launching to all of our brokers.

We reviewed many email platforms and chose My Emma for its ease of use, beautiful mobile friendly templates, support, and analytics. With Emma, you can create and send beautiful email marketing pieces which your clients will enjoy receiving.  The analytics will allow you to judge the effectiveness of your marketing. In addition to all that Emma offers, our marketing creative team has been developing Coldwell Banker Bain and Seal branded templates for you to use.

Smart marketers understand that email is one of the most effective tools for marketing. For every dollar spent on email marketing, the return on investment is $44.00. Compare a 28% effective rate for email marketing versus 7% for direct mail and it is easy to see why more people are using email for their marketing mainstay.

Your training and education team is very excited to present and teach you how to use My Emma. We hope you will join us for one of our in-person workshops.  In order to make the most of your workshop, come prepared with a CSV file of your database and we will help you prepare your first email marketing piece and send it out.

A list of Webinars and live classes is in Eventbrite as well as Bluehive on the Emma resource page. We know this is a busy time for brokers, selling homes and getting listings ready,  so don’t worry, additional workshops will be scheduled throughout the summer.

Just One Click – Washington DOL, Social Media and Internet Advertising

Just One Click…That’s all it takes…

As a practicing real estate broker, you are bound by certain rules and guidelines set forth by the Department of  Licensing and the State of Washington. When it comes to advertising, DOL is very clear about what is required for real estate advertising. In reviewing a few web sites and social media profiles, we have noticed that many brokers are not in compliance with these guidelines. In some cases there is absolutely no mention of the brokerage firm name and we even found brokers who had changed companies and have not updated to the correct information.  The Department of Licensing is beginning to monitor the social sites, and we want all you to be in compliance.

Please view this short video, or you can read the  document at the link here: Internet Advertising and Social Media  This will make sure that you are “In the Know”

We would recommend that you take a look at all of your on line profiles, make sure the information is correct and current.  Sometimes your website or social profile is where people discover you while searching the Internet.  This first impression may be your only chance to connect with someone so you want to make sure your profiles show you in the best light.

Here are a few best practices for your on line profiles:

  • Completely fill out your profile
  • If there is a headline or tagline take advantage of it
  • Think keywords use words when you talk about your expertise or specialty
  • Talk about your service, where you work, be specific
  • What is your value proposition, articulate it!
  • Use a good quality photograph that actually looks like you!  People are visual and form an impressions based on images they want to know who they are connecting with
  • List affiliations, networking groups, alumni associations and special interest groups to which you may belong
  • Add your employers past and present

Reflecting, Reviewing and Reinventing:We never stop moving forward

This time of year, for many of us, is a time for reflection and review about the past year’s successes and what we hope to achieve in the New Year.  I have been working on my 2013 business plan for CB Bain | Seal, Training and Education and I have been thinking about all of the broker and client tools and resources that our company launched in 2012, as you can see from this list, we were very busy!

2012 was also a very busy year for Coldwell Banker.   Mike Fischer, Chief Marketing Officer and the PR and marketing team put together a recap video of this past year’s achievements which I wanted to share with you.

2012 started with a new advertising and marketing campaign which was launched at our Generation Blue conference. “The Value of a Home”, campaign set the tone for real estate advertising in 2012 and many of our competitors  followed our lead.

While watching this video, I was also reminded about the value of the right partnership in business.  The CB Bain | Seal  partnership with Coldwell Banker National provides a global network and unparalleled tools, systems and resources for our brokers and our home buyer and seller clients.  Take a peek at the video and see for yourself.

Wishing you all a very Happy and Prosperous New Year in 2013!
